American diver Zale Perez is a writer, and scuba diver. She was born in Milwaukee and discovered diving early on. Zale was a skin diver as well as a scuba diver, and became a pioneer in scuba diving during the 1950s. Zale was also an early tester of underwater equipment and an aqua specialist. In 1955, Sports Illustrated featured Zale on the cover. She was later a scuba instructor, and she began to photograph under water.

Greg Louganis, an internationally recognized diver, has a unique background that includes acting and sport. He was a gymnast as a child and then a diver when he was nine. He chose to pursue an acting profession after graduating from University of California Irvine. He began acting lessons and started appearing in commercials as well as plays. He began to act in television shows.

Alexandre Despatie, a Canadian diver, was born June 8, 1985. He is the first diver who won three World Championships at one time. His accomplishment earned him a place as one of the top world divers. He also anchors the French-language coverage for the Olympic Winter Games.
