DAN offers many programs for divers. This includes a medical insurance program that covers transport and emergency treatments. It also gives members the latest information on recreational diving. Members have the ability to access educational and medical resources and products. They also get notification about emergency situations and other important information.
Insurance to cover a diving accident
DAN diving accident insurance protects members against financial losses resulting from an underwater accident. For $35 per person, or $55 per family, membership is required. It allows the DAN to carry out research regarding safety and emergency medical assistance. Although membership is not required, purchasing accident insurance before diving is a smart idea.
DAN dive accident insurance offers a variety of coverage plans. You can choose depending on your requirements a plan that covers both medical costs related to an accident and the loss or damages to your diving equipment. If you are located more than 50 kilometers from your home, many plans cover medical evacuation.
Project Dive Exploration (PDE).
DAN USA joined forces with the DAN in 2000 to create the PDE-database. This database includes information on recreational air, nitrox and mixed gas as well as decompression diving. There are currently 137,451 profiles on the PDE computer database. This data is collected through field work and laboratory studies.
PDE stands short for Project Dive Exploration. DAN Divers can make a donation by sharing their profile information. To be eligible for the drawing, all you have to do is dive for five minimum dives between May 28th & September 3rd 2007. For every 10 dives completed, a commemorative shirt will be awarded to the winner.
