Advanced Technical Diving Certifications

diving supplies

There are many options for advanced technical diving certifications. TDI offers Intro to Tech courses as well as Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox, while PADI offers Tec Trimix or Deep Diver courses. Advanced diving techniques are introduced in the TDI Advanced Nitrox course for recreational Nitrox divers. The course covers equipment use, gas switching, advanced emergency techniques and lift bag deployment. You can find more information on the TDI site.

TDI Intro to Tech course

The TDI Intro to Tech course is a standalone training course that helps you expand on your recreational training and gain a deeper knowledge of advanced technical skills. It can also be used as a gateway to TDI’s more advanced courses, like Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures) and Advanced Nitrox (Decompression Procedures). You can also use it to refresh those who have previously taken technical courses. During the course, technical instructors at TDI can assess your skills.

The TDI Intro to Tech course is for divers who have never used twin cylinders or a wing. This course covers advanced buoyancy control as well as gas management. Students will also gain situational awareness as well as trim skills. The course is taught in the sea or in open cenotes that offer conditions similar to swimming pools. Advanced gas planning skills will also be learned. This course will help you improve your open-water diving skills and teach you how to use technical equipment. You will also learn how to use advanced gas planning techniques. You will not be permitted to decompress the course but can still use enriched air nitrogenx mixes.

Course in TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures

TDI Advanced Nitrox & Deco Procedures training prepares divers for accelerated decompression. This course teaches advanced gas planning and management skills to ensure safe diving. Students learn how to manage equipment and prepare for unexpected situations. Four dives at a maximum depth limit of 40 meters (130 feet) are included in the TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Techniques course.

This course can be taken either as a standalone or in conjunction with an Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures certification. Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses are performance-based, lasting four days. Six dives above 30 meters are required. The course is customized to each student's experience and their individual requirements. This course prepares students to dive in advanced technical conditions, including wrecks in Scapa Flow or the UK.

PADI Tec Trimix course

The final step in the PADI Technical Diver open-circuit path is the PADI Tec Trimix90 course. This certification allows you to dive deeper and go places that no one else has. This course is only suitable for highly experienced tec divers who want to extend their range and explore deeper environments. A valid dive license is required. You also need to pass a medical check in order to be certified as trimix diving. Two 30cf stage bottles are required and a mask.

For the PADI Tec Trimix course, the Tec Trimix 65 diver must have logged at least 350 dives, including at least 50 decompression dives with a trimix less than 21 percent oxygen. Technical diving techniques and protocols are also covered in the course. Multiple teaching scenarios are also included in the course. It is the most advanced course for technical diving certification. It is important to note that these requirements are more rigorous than those for the PADI Tec Diver standard course.

PADI Tec Deep Diver course

PADI Deep Diver certification is for recreational divers. This certification includes four dives. It also covers safety stops and descents. You will also be able to use technical dive equipment such as a EANx or side-mounted cylinder. Learn how to plan deep diving and manage your gas supplies. Online or offline lessons are possible with the PADI Tec eLearning system. You can also take your lessons at your own pace.

This program can be completed in just two years unlike the PADI courses. First, you must be certified by Tec 50 from an approved organization. The qualifying certification must cover technical diving, decompression diving up to 50 metres and pure oxygen diving. The Tec Deep Instructor course is also offered by the PADI Course Directors. Upon completion, the PADI Instructor Course Director will issue a Tec Deep Diver Certification.
