A introductory course for those who are interested in diving is a great option. A buceo, or baptism of the water, is this course is great for people with no diving experience and those with short time. While you can dive up to 12m, you will need a certified instructor to complete the course. If you decide to take any additional classes, you can upgrade to the next level, such as a Rescue or Advanced open water certification.

Advanced open-water diver

Open water divers who have successfully completed an Open Water Diver Course are considered advanced open water divers. AOW divers have the ability to dive at depths exceeding 60 feet. AOW divers can also work on buoyancy or air consumption. Open water divers with advanced skills can do specialty dives like wreck diving. There are several levels to AOW certifications. Listed below are the differences between these levels. For more information about these levels, please read on!

Rescue diver

There are three types of Rescue Diver certificates: one for recreational diving, the other for technical diving and one for dive leader. International Standards Organisation (ISO) sets the standards for these levels. This training is based on BS EN14413-2:2004 and ISO 24801-1;2004. Instructors at level one are qualified to teach recreational divers, assess their knowledge and plan and lead dives. They are also certified to instruct rescue and lead other divers in open sea.

Cave-1 class

For a cave diver certification program, you will need to have at least 40 hours of instruction and experience. Cave diving skills and standard procedures are covered. Emergency procedures and hazards are also discussed. During the cave course, students are assessed on their skills through two sections: academics as well as water-based exercises. The students must pass a quiz, take an exam, and prove their skill and proficiency. The course requires the student to complete a cave dive course manual.
