The SSI Mermaid certification is available online. It is possible to complete the certification online at any time and from anywhere. There are two parts to the certification: a practical part and an online portion. Either you can do the online part on a desktop or laptop computer. Or, you can use your smartphone to complete the practical portion. The SSI App can be downloaded for both iOS or Android devices.
JODY PRATT
JODY PRATT has been a PADI Mermaid Instructor since 2005 and is a certified SSI Instructor Instructor Trainer. She has many Specialty Instructor Ratings and started diving as a youngster. She loves water and takes open water classes. JODY has also been certified as a Technical Rescue instructor trainer.
Michelle Forsbrey
Michelle Forsbrey loves the ocean and is a keen surfer. Her love of the ocean and beach inspired her to purchase a mermaid tail to use in her rehabilitation. She attracted the attention of both parents and children when she wore her mermaid tail at a local hotel swimming-pool.
Try Mermaid Experience
Whether you've always dreamed of being a mermaid or you're just curious about how the experience works, you've come to the right place. SSI offers a Try Mermaid experience, which allows you to swim under water with mermaid fins. This course is ideal for beginners. You will learn how to safely swim underwater, how mermaid fins work, and how to hold your breathe underwater. Your $15 certification will be granted after you have completed the Try Mermaid course.

Rusty was born and raised in New Orleans. It is the largest US swamp, covering 22 municipalities. The unique culture of Cajun has been a part of his life since he was a child. Rusty enjoys swimming, cycling, underwater photography and spending time at home with his family.
Niki
Niki Dawson is an entrepreneur, professional scuba instructor, and creative wedding planner. She loves to travel and dive in different parts. Micronesia has been her favorite place to dive. Niki loves all things travel, even diving.
Evi
Evi is a mermaid performer and instructor who teaches mermaid tail swim. Her first mermaid school was opened in March 2018 and has taught hundreds of guppies to swim using her tail. Evi, along with Naomi, has competed in World Mermaid Championship. Her goal? To help children enjoy the ocean while keeping them safe.
