PADI's Enriched Air Diver or SSI’s Enriched Air Nitrox courses are two options for you if you are searching for an online option to learn scuba diving. But you might be wondering where to begin. This article will discuss how to get started, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of both. Additionally, this article will discuss online nitrox certification.
PADI's Enriched Air Diver course
PADI Enriched Air Diver Course teaches students how safe to plan and prepare for enriched-air dives. It is primarily computer-based, and the classroom portion typically takes an evening. It is compatible with Open Water and Advanced Open Water Diver courses. You can do your own nitrox dives, or they are included in this course.

This course uses interactive multimedia presentations, audio, graphics and audio to make it easy to follow and understand. To test your knowledge, there are short quizzes. The course includes a Quick Review, a practical application session, two enriched air training dives, and pre-dive simulations. PADI recommends that you complete the eLearning portion of the course at least one year before you plan to dive with nitrox.
SSI's Enriched Air Nitrox course
The EnrichedAir Nitrox course by SSI is a great option for divers looking to increase their bottom time and reduce their surface intervals. This course covers everything from gas theory to how to mix enriched air properly and how to mark your tank. You will learn how you can calculate the best enriched mixture for your specific depth. Also, how to plan your dives so you can make the most of enriched.
After completing the Open Water Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver courses, SSI's EnrichedAir Nitrox is an ongoing course that will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely dive with enriched water. You'll also learn how to plan for future dives in order to reduce the likelihood of suffering from decompression sickness. After passing the exams, you'll be able to safely use the enriched oxygen cylinder.
Online learning options for nitrox certification
Either online or in the classroom, there are two options for obtaining your enriched oxygen certification. For the classroom course you will need to have a dive computer in order to learn the skills. The classroom portion of your enriched air certification will take an afternoon or evening. You can combine your enriched air certification with a PADI Open Water (or Advanced Open Water) course. You can sign up for private classes, or use online learning resources if you are short on time. Online courses can be completed and nitrox diving done offline.

You will need a dive computer, an air cylinder, and a guidebook to complete the course. You can practice your skills using an app that simulates an enhanced air cylinder if you have an option for online learning. The EANx36 cylinder fits in both a classroom and online eLearning program. The class is open to students aged 12 and older.
