Dive master is a professional who helps others get underwater. In many countries, the dive master qualification is the required level for divers with supervisory or guide responsibility. Description of the job for a diving master
What is the job description for a dive master? In short, it involves a variety of duties, including assessing the risks of diving, supervising customer dives, delivering briefings and leading groups through a dive. Divers can also have a variety of job descriptions. A dive master could be responsible for multiple aspects of a dive store, including operations and social media.
Instructors and supervisors of diving techniques teach and supervise in open water or swimming pools. They also plan and supervise nontraining activities, such as navigation exercises. Open water instructors lead students through the tour portion of dives. This includes the navigation exercise as well as the surface swim portion. A dive instructor's job may include the supervision of certified divers during a scuba certification course. Diver instructors have different legal responsibilities depending on where they live. The waiver signed by the dive instructor may exempt the diving instructor from legal responsibility in certain countries.
Certification requirements
You will need to complete a course if you want to become a divemaster. Divemaster classes cover topics such as managing divers, setting up dive sites, and finding the best flow. Additionally, candidates must have at least 60 logged dives. Divers may also be assisted by divemasters to improve their theory and skills.
In addition to taking courses, Dive masters must pass a two-part examination. The candidates must score at the least 75% on each portion of the exam in order to pass. Candidates will be using the PADI Instructor Handbook and the eRDPML for the exam. Students also need to prepare an emergency assistance plan and complete five waterskills exercises. At least fifteen points must be combined. After completion of the course, divers must obtain certification.
Internship requirements
There are various internship options to become a Divemaster. You can help with other PADI courses or set up dive sites depending on your preferences. It is possible that you will be asked to assist in skill circuits. But, your internship will have a pattern. A typical internship will last for eight weeks. In the same period, you may become an Advanced Open Water Diver. After four to six months of training, you may become a Divemaster/Diveguide.
You may also be able to find a free internship for Divemasters in addition to paid internships. Even though free internships may not be ideal, they will allow you to get valuable advice and study from a Divemaster. As part of your internship, you might be eligible for manuals, certifications, and equipment. Before you enroll in any Divemaster course, it is important to be familiar with the requirements.
