Costa Rica is home to a variety of marine life, which draws many divers. You can see manta Rays, bull sharks and humpback whales in Costa Rica waters. Costa Rica is the ideal destination for seasoned divers. Costa Rica offers diving opportunities for all levels of experience.

Cano Island

Cano Island's turquoise waters provide the ideal setting for snorkeling, scuba diving and other water sports. This area has the highest concentrations of coral-building organisms worldwide, including brain and head corals. The waters of the region are home to large marine organisms such as mantas rays and humpbacks. The rainy season will bring down the prices of accommodations and tours, as well as the crowds.


Islas Murcielagos

The Islas Murcielagos, one of Costa Rica's top dive spots, are located at the southern tip on the Santa Elena Peninsula, north of Papagayo. These islands, which are surrounded only by the ocean, offer spectacular visibility. It is possible to spot many species and colors of fish and sunrays in this area. It is also a great place to spot bull sharks and olive ridley turtles.

Catalina Island

Catalina Island is the perfect place to dive if you are looking for an unforgettable experience. These uninhabited island are only two to 15 minutes from Costa Rica's northwest coastline. The visibility and temperature of this area is comparable to those found elsewhere on the Pacific Coast. However there are some variations in the water. Catalina Island, which is a warm, calm environment and home to many marine species, is the place for you.

Puerto Viejo

Be aware of how to get around Puerto Viejo (Costa Rica). Puerto Viejo has no parking lot so locals park by the side of the road. If you drive your own car, please park at your lodging. You can then walk or bike around the town's center. You can also use a red taxi or call a local taxi company to take you around the town.
