White Point dive is one of the most interesting dive sites in LA. It has white bacteria mats on its bottom and is very close to the hot springs. There is also an old shipwreck, rock coral, and kelp beds at this dive site. Here you will also find giant sea stars, urchins and cold water anemones. High tide is the best time to dive.
Leo Carillo
Leo Carrillo (La) is a California State Park located on the southern coast, Los Angeles County. It is part the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The park has 1.5 miles stretch of beach that extends to the Santa Monica Mountains. There are many opportunities for scuba divers to explore the beautiful waters off Leo Carrillo State Park's coast.
Divers can choose from three main dive sites at Leo Carrillo. These sites are perfect for beginners because they offer easy entry points as well as ample parking. You can also go night diving or lobster hunting at these sites, and you will find lots of marine life.
Santa Barbara Island
Santa Barbara Island offers some outstanding offshore dive locations. These dive sites can be reached by visiting boats. These dive sites are often rugged and make great hunting and photography spots. In addition, there are many healthy kelp beds and purple hydro coral in these areas. The visibility is also excellent for Southern California waters.
It is possible to kayak and snorkel on the island. Tent camping is possible if it's allowed by the weather. There is a large population pinnipeds on the island, which includes harbor seals. You can find these animals at the rock areas surrounding the sea-lion rookery. These overlooks are scattered around the island.
Anacapa Island
Anacapa Island supports a wide variety marine life. One of America's first Marine Protected Areas can be found in this region. The region offers diving that is not only great for beginners but also for seasoned divers. The warm waters of the island make it an ideal place to dive in a wetsuit. The surface temperature can reach as high as 70°F (21°C) during the summer and fall. However, temperatures can fall to a low of 50deg F (10deg C) during the colder months of winter. It is recommended to wear a 7mm suit. These months are when visibility is generally at least 100 feet (30M).
Access to Anacapa's dive site can be made by charter boats or the Island Packers. The island has many dive spots, including an arch rock that is 40 feet tall. These sites are also accessible from the sea surface with snorkeling gear.
Veteran's park
Veteran's Park is a Green Space on Ocean Drive that has a playground and fields. This is a wonderful place for families to come together. It is close to beaches. You can enjoy a stunning view of the ocean at the park, especially on a sunny afternoon. It's open all year round and has lots to offer.
Access is easy from the parking lot. If you're a first-time diver, Veteran's Park is the best place to start your diving adventure. The park is easy to find and offers restrooms and parking. There is an outdoor shower to wash your gear and the meter is checked every day. There's also a changing room, but the bathrooms close at dusk.
